Edward Leon Smith of Clanton and formerly of Selma, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 79.
He was born in Alabama on August 27, 1944 to the late Jack Smith and the late Odessa Bullins Smith.
Mr. Smith retired from Royal Vending.
He is survived by his wife, Martha L. Smith; children, Johnny B Smith (Janet) and Jennifer S. Jones (Doug); Daughter-in-law, Kerry A. Smith; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Louise Firkins and Jeanette McWhorter.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kerry L. Smith; and a sister, Mildred Smith.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande with Rev. Ryan Skiebe officiating.
There will be no visitation, everyone please meet at the cemetery.
