Elba E Skinner, age 79, of Selma passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Union United Methodist Church on Co. Rd. 67 in Sardis with Rev. Linda Tarver officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Carlowville Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wallace Skinner ;daughters: Alice Skinner of Montgomery and Evelyn Nobels (Didier) of Columbia, SC; grandchildren: Sylvie, Valerie, and Oliver Nobels; brothers: Robert Edwards, Elwood Edwards; sisters: Frances Cook, Laura Ziegler; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Skinner graduated from Alabama College and taught school in Selma, Dallas County and Demopolis schools. She was an active member Union United Methodist Church and a volunteer with the Vaughan Regional Medical Center auxiliary.
