Elizabeth Cochran Johnson

Elizabeth Cochran Johnson of Marion, Alabama, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma at the age of 79.

She was born on April 17, 1944  to the late James H. Cochran and the late Mattie Washburn Cochran.

Elizabeth was a retired service technician for Marion Manufacturing.

She leaves behind her sons, Joseph "Joey" Johnson and Steve (Beth) Johnson; her grandchildren, Parker (Lauren) Johnson and Caroline Johnson; brother, Ernest (Faye) Cochran; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Johnson; parents, James and Mattie Cochran; and siblings, James O. Cochran, William "Boe" Cochran, Robert "Bobby" Cochran, and John "JT" Cochran.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Sprott with Rev. Larry Nickles officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Parker Johnson, Kevin Thomas, Josh Price, Matthew Price, and Mike Cochran.

Honorary pallbearers will be Barbara Cain, Linda Smith, Vivian Bauer, Blanche Tate, Blanche Dennis, and the doctors and staff of Diversacare Nursing Home.

Final care has been entrusted to the Selma Funeral Home of Valley Grande.
