Elizabeth Anne Pilcher

June 21, 1958 — May 11, 2024

Elizabeth “Anne” Griffing Pilcher, of Selma, Alabama departed this world on May 11, 2024, surrounded by friends and family. Anne will always be remembered by all as an incredible teacher, artistic soul and a caring friend. She had a ready laugh, fun-loving presence and an unmatched passion for living life positively.  Her joy in life was only overshadowed by her love of her greatest achievement, her family.   She loved her children and family with her entire being, making sure they knew she supported them no matter the endeavor.  Her love of her family was obvious to all, as was their love and affection for her.

Anne was preceded in death by her father, Lt. Col. Walter E. Griffing, U.S. Air Force.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Thomas “Jody” Pilcher, III, of Selma, Alabama; children, Joseph Thomas Pilcher, IV (Ginnie), of Fairhope, Alabama, Eric Pilcher of Tahoe City, California, and Jaime Pilcher Ward (Tripp) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; grandchildren Tinsley Pilcher, Jody Pilcher V, Elizabeth Pilcher, Winn Pilcher, Will Pilcher, Emmary Pilcher, Anderson Ward and Ellie Ward; mother, Martha “Betty” Floyd Griffing; and brothers John Griffing (Sherry) and Jerry Griffing.

The family would like to bring special recognition to Linda McDonald for her love and affection towards Anne and the entire family over the last years.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, on May 15, 2024 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Amy George officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing. Interment will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Light officiating. The family will receive friends in the Warren Room of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church beginning at 12:00 p.m., prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in loving memory of her to the Selma-Dallas County Public Library.
