Elmer Earl "Fred" Workman, age 73, of Selma, passed away January 10, 2013.
He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Minnie Workman, Sr.; son: Timothy Earl Workman; and brother: Roy Ferrell Workman, Jr.
Mr. Workman is survived by his wife of 50 years: Olivia "Chickie" Caver Workman; daughters; Deborah Workman Ballard, Virginia Lynn (Kenny)Henderson , Vikki Workman Foley, Valarie Dawn (David) Hamm ; sister: Nancy Sue (Don)Moore ; grandchildren: Amanda (Josh) Parrish, Brandon (Heather) Orvis, Jonathan Orvis, Brittany (Blake) Rainwater, Stephen Smitherman, Miah Henderson, Jennifer (Westley) Nichols, Matthew (Anna) Foley, Joseph (Nichole) Workman, Jessica (Chris) Hamm, Kimberly Hamm; and great grandchildren: Autumn, Lacy, Kate, Savannah, Avery, and Addyson.
After graduating from Greenbank High School in West Virginia, Mr. Workman served his country in the U.S. Army for eleven years and later settled in Selma, AL. He retired as a yard master from Norfolk Southern Railroad.
A family memorial service was held with Rev. Art Hartley officiating.
