Elsie Mae Headley Combs

Elsie Mae Headley Combs of Selma, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Baptist Hospital South in Montgomery at the age of 73.

She was born in Clanton, Alabama on February 21, 1950 to the late Forrest J. Headley and the late Lois Rhodes Headley.

She was a former machine operator with American Apparel in Selma.

Elsie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Marcus Earl Combs; children, Debra A. Pugh, Angelia Braswell (Rico), and Misty Bailey; grandchildren, Brandy Edwards (Derrick), Stephanie Purdy (Jason), Ashley Pugh, Scott Braswell (Brittany), Nicholas Bailey, Jordan Bailey, Rendin Bailey, and Jaylen Bailey; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Headley; and sister, Gail Gray.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Cory Braswell, brother, FJ Headley; and sister, Diane Glass.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 7:00 pm from the Selma Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home beginning at 6:00 pm.

At Elsie‘s request, she will be cremated following the funeral service.

An inurnment service will take place at a later date in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Final care and arrangements have been faithfully entrusted to the Selma Funeral Home.
