Elzora ���Zodie��� Pardue passed away on Wednesday August 17, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Madison Pardue; father and mother, Eli, Sr. and Ola Henley Shumate; also brothers, Houston, Cecil, Edward, Tom and Eli, Jr.; sisters, Mildred Baldwin and Lila Mae Myers.
She is survived by her grandsons, Ernie Russell (Gail) of Slapout, AL and Ken Russell (Jackie) of Jacksonville, NC; sister, Mary Edna Yonker of Muskegon, MI; brother-in-law, Len (Pearl) Myers; sisters-in-law, Faye Shumate and Annie Nichols all of Selma; 6 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 20, 2011 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Minister Dennis Turner of Highland Church of Christ and great-grandson, Pastor Shane Russell of Shoal Creek Baptist Church, Deatsville officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Fain, Len Myers, Alan Shumate, Kenny King, Tim Richburg and Jimmy Pardue.
Zodie was born on November 3, 1926. She was a loving caregiver both to family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
