Emma Massey

Emma Gail Harper Massey, 91, of Selma passed away on December 27, 2011 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Massey was preceded in death by her son, John Henry Holley; husband of 35 years, Joseph Rayfard Holley; husband of 6 years, Walter Massey; parents, John Henry and Willie Gayle Harper. She is survived by her sisters, Shirley Taylor of Marion, Virginia Roberts of Gulfport, MS, Anne (Harper) Oakes of Huntsville; children, Donald Holley (Lois) of Brenhan, TX and Shirley Gail Sova of Selma; grandchildren, Jerry Armfield and Joe Armfield of Scottsville, KY, Victoria Sova of Selma, Erin Deschane of WI, Alexis Burch of Killeen, TX, Andrea, Lauren, and Sean Holley all of GA; 9 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren. Active Pallbearers will be Jerry Armfield, Joe Armfield, Sean Holley, David Montgomery, Barry Harper, Wayne Turk, Alex Landi and Tim Spencer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Taylor, Boyd Taylor, John Wayne Taylor, Bill Montgomery, Bob Montgomery, Tom Spencer, Jim Cruce, Frank Harper, Glen Oakes, Jim Medley, Jim McGaughy, Jay Sova, Jim Booth, Richard Roberts, Mike Turk, Jim Ward and Pastor Calvin Strickland.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Elkdale Baptist Church with Rev. Guy Anderson officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2011.
