Esther Mae Nichols Salter, age 79, went to heaven from her daughter's home on November 25, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Floria Mae Nichols and her husband of more than 50 years, Joe Salter.
She is survived by two children, Sherrie (Tommy) Hawkins of Nashville, TN and Gerald (Wanda) Salter of Selma, AL; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Colleen) Salter, Matthew (Melanie) Hawkins, Jessica (Jonathon) Duranceau and Leah (Michael) Norman; eight beautiful great grandchildren, Trey, Trent, Alanna, Noah, Emory, Briley, Calab and Quinn; sister, Lena Jones of Columbus, MS and sister-in-law, Rose Nichols of Selma, AL.
Esther was a devoted wife; loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who found great pride and joy in her family. She enjoyed years of working with people as the owner and operator of the "Princess Beauty Shop".
She served her Lord faithfully and over the years led the positions of Sunday School Teacher, Choir Director and Missionary President at Praise Park Ministries Church of the Nazarene.
A Celebration of Life will be Monday, December 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Salter, Trey Salter, Trent Salter, Jonathon Duranceau, Michael Norman and Douglas Coats.
