Eugene Barnes age 73 of Selma, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022.
He was born in Dallas County, AL on September 5, 1948 to the late Daniel Jackson Barnes and the late Elizabeth Scott Barnes.
He was a construction superintendent.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Fancher Barnes; son, Bryant (Blair) Barnes; daughter Michaela Barnes; granddaughters Hayden Barnes and McKenzie Barnes; siblings, Willard (Gloria) Barnes, Bruce Barnes, Gwyn Barnes, Alice Wales, Pat (Berry) Vines, Elaine (Eddie) Shumate, and Judy (Johnny) Robinson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Daniel Jackson Barnes and Elizabeth Scott Barnes; brother, James Barnes.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Selma Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00-2:00 p.m at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kenny King, Chuck Harris, Randy Chance, Eric Barnes, John Barnes, Alsey McDonald.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Coach Earl Griffin, his hunting buddies, Tommy Swindle, Charles Roberts, Kenny Dempsey, and David Drinkard.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Fullers and all of their employees for their help and to the many doctors and nurses that have cared for him over the years.
