Eva Castleberry

Eva Onder Simmons Castleberry of Selma, AL, passed away on February 28, 2016. Eva was born on November 25, 1931 in Giles County, TN. Her childhood was spent in North Alabama near Tennessee. Eva was preceded in death by her husband Nile Edsel Castleberry, her son - Scott Shelton Castleberry, her parents - Rufus and Vona Coffman Simmons, one brother - Allen David Simmons, four sisters - Etha Mae Simmons, Emma Jean Simmons, Ella Wee Crane, and Esther Parsons.

Eva was a registered nurse and worked in Birmingham and Selma. She and her husband raised
three sons. She was a life long member of the Church of Christ. Her favorite pastimes were reading her Bible, reading and re-reading "Gone with the Wind" and watching the Atlanta Braves on television.

Eva is survived by her sons - Keith (Patricia) Castleberry of Atmore, Alabama and Hugh Castleberry of New Orleans, Louisiana, grandchildren Sherry Castleberry, Kerrianne Castleberry, Kaylie (Josh) Doss, great-grandchildren Hannah Grace Doss and Bethany Joy Doss, brother - Addrick (Virginia) Simmons, her sisters - Martha Evelyn Thompson, Era Ross, and her twin Evie Vance.

Funeral Services for Eva Castleberry will be conducted on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Pineview Memorial Garden in Selma, Alabama.
