Evelyn Lenora Davis Hill, 93, of Selma died Monday, October 27, 2008 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville, AL with Rev. Stephen Rutherford officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday. Mrs. Hill was born Feb. 6, 1915 to Edna and Jim Davis in Marengo Co.; She lost her dad at the age of 8 but never lost her treasured memories of him. She met and married Judge F. Hill on March 30, 1930. Together they had two sons. Evelyn was a quality control supervisor until retirement at age of 72; she then became a loving childcare provider until age of 86. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Judge F. Hill; precious loving son, James D. Hill; parents, James Davis and Edna Etheridge Davis Newton; brothers, Dovey Davis and J.C. Davis; and sister, Annie Laura Etheridge. She was survived by her son, Tommie M. Hill (Elaine) of Crestview, FL; grandchildren, Debbie Booker (Walter) of Selma, AL, Kimberly Fessler (Pat) of Omaha, Nebraska, James D. Hill II (Pamela) of Crestview, FL and Anthony Hill of Crestview, FL; great grandchildren, Makala Lane (Dan) of Selma, AL, Megan Henderson (Jesse) of Selma, AL, Michael Godwin of Selma, Dylan Fessler of Omaha, and Jacob D. Hill of Crestview; sisters, Polly D. Baggett of Hollandale, MS, Margaret Griffith of Utica, MS, and Evie Earl Potter of Yazoo City, MS; special friends and family, Jean Galyon, Jean Boehmer, Ruby Kervin; numerous nieces and nephews, step sisters, brothers, five step great-grandchildren, and cousins. She also leaves behind many loving memories, especially the stories she has shared with any available listener. Loved by many who knew her as ���Granny Hill���.
