Evelyn Elizabeth Rodgers Key Speed, born December 20, 1919 to the late Murray and Lula Rodgers passed away August 14, 2014 at the age of 94.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Christian Key, who passed away while serving our country in World War II and her later husband of 68 years, Bryant T. Speed.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Bryant Gordon (Ann) Speed, Robert Christian (Mary) Key and Vick (Ann) Speed; grandchildren, Bryant Gordon Speed II, John Stewart Speed, Clayton King Speed, Laura Speed, Benjamin Dallas Speed, Mary Elizabeth Key, Ashley Key Sweat, Ann Shannon Speed, Mary Owen Hartzog, and Morgan Andres Barnette and numerous great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 11:00 in New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Reba Wiley and Rev. Clayton Speed officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The family will have a private visitation.
In lieu of flowers, you may consider making memorial donation to Church Street United Methodist Church, 214 Church Street, Selma, Alabama 36701.
