Fannie Ernest Douglas, age 98, a resident of Park Place in Selma, AL, passed away on April 8, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin Douglas; daughter, Jeanne Bowles; parents Frank Hurd and Beulah Kennedy Ernest; sisters Constance McCrory, Mary Lee Ernest, Margaret Gaines, and Elizabeth Brown and brothers, Frank Ernest, William Ernest, and Robert Ernest. Mrs. Douglas is survived by her sister, Anne Blackmon of Mandeville, LA; son, Robert Franklin Douglas, Jr. (Cecile) of Prattville, AL; daughter, Mary Ellen Rollins of Sardis, AL; grandchildren, James Bowles, Jr. (Sheryl) of Shreveport, LA, Steven Bowles (Cindy) of Newnan, GA, Kennedy Peters (Ed) of Alexandria, VA, Amanda Johnson (Jeremy) of Prattville, AL, and Llewellyn Rollins of Nashville, TN. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Douglas was an active member of First Baptist in Selma for many years. She loved playing golf, fishing, and traveling with her husband, Robert. A graveside service will be Sunday, April 14 at 2:30 p.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma with Dr. Jerry Light officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.
