Frances Fuller

Frances Virginia Fuller died peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the age of 100, at Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Miss Fuller was born on September 19, 1912, in Perryville, Alabama, to James Tazwell Fuller and Jennie Potts Fuller. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Lucile Fuller, Mary F. Suttle, Jessie Byrd F. Maple, Susie F. Megginson, Grace F. Godbold, Juliette F. Kendall, and brothers, William P. Fuller and James T. Fuller, Jr. She is survived by nephews James T. Fuller, III (Catherine) of Washington, D.C.; Dr. Cecil W. Fuller (Ann) of Selma; J. Freeman Suttle, III (Harriet) of Selma; Clayton S. Megginson of Selma; L. William Godbold of Pine Hill (Melody); Arthur L. Maple (Anne) of Austin, Texas; Tazwell F. Maple (Mary Ann) of Corydon, Indiana; nieces Virginia S. Mallory (Hugh) of Selma; Cynthia F. Callaway of Brewton, Al; and Mary S. Payne (Stanley) of Chattanooga, Tenn. She is also survived by numerous great great nieces and nephews.
Miss Fuller graduated from Howard College and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She taught school for many years in Montgomery at both Sidney Lanier and Robert E. Lee High Schools. She was interested in genealogy and was a member of the DAR and the National Society of Colonial Dames of America.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed her association with the women of the church until her health precluded attendance.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at New Live Oak Cemetery with Dr. Jerry W. Light, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14.
Pall bearers will be her nephews Arthur L. Maple, Tazwell F. Maple, Clayton S. Megginson, James T. Fuller, III, Cecil W. Fuller, Sr., L. William Godbold, and great nephew C. William Fuller, Jr.
The family would like to thank Annie Hall, Betty Berry, Sarah Hall and the staff of Cedar Hill and Park Place for their dedicated service and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
