Frank Jones

Frank W. Jones, Jr., 76, died on September 11, 2008 at his home after a short illness. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Jones Holland, son, David Jones both of Selma; sister, Pat (Johnny) Chason of Pensacola, FL; brother, Clark (Lynne) Jones and a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Steve Tidwell and Leith Wilson officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be on Saturday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Anne P. Jones, parents, Frank and Zellah Jones, son, Robert Jones; daughter-in-law, Sharylyn and a son-in-law, Ricky Holland. Mr. Jones was active in the Boy Scouts and the Order of the Arrow until his health declined. He was retired from the United States Air Force as LT COL., he also retired from the Air National Guard, the Army National Guard, the Federal Government, and West Central Alabama Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center in Selma. Active Pallbearers will be David Barnes, Harold Wells, Dickson DeWitt, George Eskridge, Bob Myers, Steve Tidwell Jr., Jack Shell, and Alfred Morelock. The family wishes to thank the Cahaba Hospice nurses Jo. Frances, and Lillie and Aides Emma and Brenda for their loving care and concern, for keeping him as pain free as possible and also Ann Curtis. All of these people went above and beyond to make sure he died with dignity and helped us tremendously. . We would also like to thank Judy Saranthus, Mel and Fay Parker, Kathy Simmons, Peggy Small, Leith Wilson, and Steve Tidwell and the staff of Dr. Overstreets office for being there for us.
