Franklin Sumlin

Franklin Daniel Sumlin of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa at the age of 88.
He was born on September 5, 1934 to the late Shelby Sumlin and the late Estelle Wyatt Sumlin.
He was retired from Franks Cougar Oil as manager after 50 years of service.
He is survived by his children, Daniel Sumlin (Rene), Dana Hooks, David Sumlin, Donna Grimm, and Dennis Sumlin (Joyce); 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Christine Kowalski (Eddie).
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Ruth Hester Sumlin; parents, Shelby and Estelle Sumlin; and siblings, Lorene Britton and Edwin Sumlin.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande with Rev. Jerry Smith officiating.
There will be no visitation, everyone please meet at the cemetery.
The family has requested no flowers but that contributions be made to Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa or Marion Military Institute.
Final care and arrangements have been faithfully entrusted to the care of Selma Funeral Home.
