Gail Smitherman

Gail Sugiura Smitherman, age 82, of Selma, AL, passed away August 15, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon "Sonny" Smitherman, Jr.; parents, Nobuzo and Ken Sugiura; brother-in-law, Joe Smitherman and sisters-in-law, Jo D. Lange and Nell Phillips. Surviving are her son, Mark (Betty) Smitherman; granddaughter, Christy G. Smitherman; brother-in-law, Frank E. Phillips and special friends, Rose, Debbie and James Godwin. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Whit Sasser and Rev. James Register officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12-1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Mark Taylor, James Godwin, Mark Andrews, David Collier, Johnny Ray Harris, Steve Mott, Steve Phillips, Danny Phillips and Danny Reben.
