Garrett Robinson Coffee, age 19, died January 8, 2012. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Billy Joe Robinson. He is survived by his parents, Amy and Donnie Coffee, Jr.; sister, Mary Kay Coffee; girlfriend, Shawlee Farnham; grandparents, Iris Robinson and Peggy and Donnie Coffee, Sr.; uncles, Keith (Ali) Robinson, Jeff (Michelle) Robinson; aunts, Connie (Gary) Allen and Christie (Larry) Grant; and cousins, C. J. Daughtery, Erin Zappala, Joseph Robinson, Thomas Robinson, Marissa Robinson, Lydia Gray, Heather Gray, Joshua Grant, Brett Allen and Brittany Allen. He was active in the Elkdale Baptist Church Youth Group and attended a mission trip to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Garrett enjoyed hunting and fishing with his Dad. He was an avid skateboarder, played the tuba in the band and was a Boy Scout attaining the level of Life Scout in Troop 26 at Church Street United Methodist Church. He was an avid reader and won several academic awards. He graduated from John T. Morgan Academy in 2010 and was awarded a Presidential Scholarship to Wallace Community College. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 11:00 at Elkdale Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Henry officiating. Interment will be Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the funeral home from 6-8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Deke Brown, Jake Brown, Eric Parr, Joshua Grant, Tony Hatch, Cody Hamm, Bob Frazer and Brian Hitchcock.
