Gene W. Johnston, Sr., age 87 of Athens, Alabama passed away peacefully on July 26, 2021 at his daughter and son-in-law's home with them by his side.
Mr. Johnston was born in Perry County, Alabama to Gene P. Johnston and Wilma J. Johnston on October 23, 1933.
He was retired from Bellsouth after many years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy C. Johnston and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen J. Frost (Randell) and son, Gene W. Johnston, Jr. (Dona).
He was a long time resident of Selma and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He and his wife moved to Athens, Alabama in 2015 to be near his daughter and son-in-law.
A private family burial will take place at a later date.
Final care and arrangements have been faithfully entrusted to Selma Funeral Home.
