George Albert Day, born February 6, 1926, of Sardis, AL, went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2011.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Ollie and Bertha Mae Day; brother: Jimmy Lee Day; and sister: Lucile Dean. Mr. Day is survived by his wife of 63 years: Nonie Ophelia Day; sons: James (Norma) Day, David (Teresa) Day, Buddy Day; daughters: Doris (Zeke) Lewis, Sarah Woodyard, Peggy (Donald) Barnes, Tammy (Greg) Posey; He is also survived by an abundance of grandchildren: Jamie (Cheri) Day, Cindy (Farrell) Denny, Kenny (Peggy) Day, Frankie (Heather) Rogers, Joey (Angela) Rogers, Derek Lassitter, Thomas (Kendra) Day, Summer Perotti, John Perotti, Ashley Day, April Posey; and numerous great grandchildren. Services will be held at Casey Church of Christ on Friday, June 17, 2011, at 11:00 with Rev. Gordon Gibbs officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Casey Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 16th from 6 é��é��é�" 8 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Derek Lassiter, Thomas Day, Kenny Day, Jamie Day, Joey Rogers and John Perotti. Honorary Pallbearers are Frankie Rogers, Trey Day, Heath Day and Landen Denny. Mr. Day is loved and will be missed greatly by numerous family members and lifelong friends. He created many memories for many people and will never be forgotten.
