He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn Lackeos.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Vickers; sons, Ricky (Rhonda) Vickers, Paul (Dorothy) Vickers, John (Robin) Vickers, Michael Smith and Greg (Debbie) Russell; son-in-law, John Lackeos; brother, John (Ruby) Vickers; grandchildren, Devin Vickers, Trey Vickers, Jason Vickers, Justin Ledford, P. J. Vickers and Lisa Johnson and great-grandchildren, Dylan Vickers, Jordan Cranor, Cael Cranor and Ethan Cranor.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George K. Jones, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 16, 2009 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Devin Vickers, Trey Vickers, Jason Vickers, John Lackeos, Jordan Cranor and Scott Johnson.
The family requests memorial donations to be made to The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund, c/o The American Legion, P. O. Box 1055, Indianapolis, IN 46206.
