Gertrude "Gertie" Mitchell Lusk, 80, passed away at home on Sunday, July 26, 2009. A chapel service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Lawrence Brown Service Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Perry Conty. The daughter of the late Judge and Emmy Williams Mitchell, Mrs. Lusk was born in Perry County, Alabama, and had lived in Perry, Georgia since 1972. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Lusk was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Lusk.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Diane Sheffield of Perry, Georgia, Patricia Walker of Plantersbille, Alabama, James T. Lusk of Germany, and Earl Lusk, Ernie Lusk, and John Lusk, all of Perry, Georgia; her siblings, Allen Mitchell of Selma, Alabama, Eleanor Butler of Melbourne, Florida, Fran Tharpe of Satellite Beach, Florida, Jane Mycoskie of Akron, Ohio, and Julius Mitchell of Selma, Alabama; 17 grandchildren; and many, many great-grandchildren.
