Carolyn Ginger Weissinger Wilson

Ginger Weissinger Wilson, 64, a lifelong resident of Browns, Alabama, passed away at
her home on Sunday, August 5, 2012, unexpectedly. Ginger was baptized
and raised in the Orrville Baptist Church. She attended Orrville High
School through the eleventh grade and graduated from Parrish High School
in 1966. Ginger was a member of Chi Omega Sorority while attending
Auburn University. She graduated from Livingston University with a B.S. in
Mathematics Education. She taught for math for many years at Morgan
Academy and always enjoyed the friendship of her former students. After
her teaching career, she devoted herself to caring for her family and
restoring her family home which has been in her family for 7 generations to
enjoy. Her love of cooking was often enjoyed by family and friends. Ginger
was a member of Safford Baptist Church, the Selma Garden Club, Master
Gardeners, and a sustaining member of the Selma Charity League.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. & Mrs. William Wood
Weissinger, her mother and father-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Dean S. Wilson, Sr.
and an infant son.
She is survived by her husband, Dean S. (Butch) Wilson, Jr., of Browns,
her daughter, Dea Powe and her husband Willard, of Browns, her son,
Travis Wilson, and his wife Keisha, of Browns, her grandchildren, Trey
Powe, Carrie Lea Powe, Trevor Wilson, and Cole Wilson, her sister, Fran
Pearce and her husband David, of Browns, her brother, Dave Weissinger,
of Paris, Tx, brothers-in-law Larry (Elena) Wilson, Orlando, FL, Gordon
(Misty) Wilson of Alexander City, AL, Matt (Shelly) Wilson of Charlotte, NC,
sisters-in-law, Linda (Jesse) Hendricks of Spanish Fort, AL and Jenny
(Brad) Banks of Fairhope, AL, uncles, Arthur "Sonny" (Jackie) Woodfin of
Selma, AL and James (Frances) Woodfin, of Uniontown, AL, nephews
David Pearce, Jr. of Browns, Will (Beth) Pearce, of Selma, and a host of
other nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Services will be held at Safford Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Scott Bullard officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. . Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. at Safford Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery in Browns, AL
Pallbearers will be David Pearce, Jr., Will Pearce, Logan Banks, James
Mooney, Lee Wilson, Matt Wilson and Jason Hendricks.
