Gladys Joy Rivers

Gladys Joy Rivers passed away at her home on January 17, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born October 14, 1937 to the late Grady Lee Roberts, Sr. and Emma Naomi Banks Roberts. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Rivers; brothers, Jack Roberts, Tommy Roberts and Grady Roberts, Jr.; sisters, Nellie Smith and Margaret Shimp.

She is survived by her children, Gina Rivers; Todd (Jennifer) Rivers; grandchildren, Courtney Dial, Shannon Travis, Ivy Small, Alexandra Rivers and Isaiah Rivers; great-grandchildren, Kiara Dial, Jaleah Mitchell, Jalen Mitchell, Jordan Headley, Allison Headley, Raelynn Headley and Rowan Headley; brother, Wayne (Pat) Roberts; sisters, Dorothy Adcox and Jeanette Akers and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma with Dr. Ed Eaton officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, beginning at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Todd Rivers, Isaiah Rivers, Shannon Travis, Jordan Headley, Wade Akers, Tim Roberts, Clint Roberts and Mitt Pearson. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Roberts an Bobby Roberts.
