Gloria Jean Griffith
Gloria Jean Griffith passed away on Thursday May 30, 2013 at age 81. She was preceded in death by her parents Martha Susan Stone and J.G Griffith.
She is survived by cousins and friends. She was born in Selma and lived most of her life in Birmingham; she graduated from Misses Howards School for Girls and Alabama Polytechnic Institute. She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, Oracles, Friends of Hoover and Vestavia Librarys, Historical Societies of Jefferson County, Museum of Art and Highland Methodist Church. She was an Auburn Golden Eagle. She worked as an elementary teacher, at UAB and Riches.
Graveside services will be held at New Live Oak Cemetery, Selma on Friday May 31, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be cousins.
