Gordon Carter, born December 6, 1934 to the late William and Leslie Carter, passed away October 13, 2014 at Vaughn Regional Medical Center in Selma, Alabama.
Gordon is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Maudine Carter; sons, Tony Carter Sr. and Glenn Carter and numerous brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristine (Sam) Burge; sons, Donnie Carter and Scott Carter; grandchildren, Catrena Carter, Tony Carter, Jr., Shari Carter, Cody Carter, Kimberly (Brandon) Wright, Casey Burge, Cory Burge, Harlee Miley and Samantha Carter; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Rain Wright, Addison Wright, Abby Walker, Levi Carter, Aiden Carter, Anna Carter, Kaylee Carter, Kyler Carter and Alexus Marie Luster; sisters, Margie Rhodes and Shirley Smitherman; brothers, Ernest Carter and Tom Carter; Special Caregiver, Stacey Banks and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Plantersville Christian Cemetery with Rev. Don Stevens officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Terry, Ronnie Mull, James Carter, David Wilcox, Kevin Prough and Donnie Wright.
