Guinn Allen "Sandy" Sanderson, age 83, a resident of Jones, AL, passed away January 19, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma Jean Sanderson; grandson, John Blue; great-grandson, Taylor McFadden and brothers, Darrell Sanderson and Thomas Sanderson.
Surviving are his sons, David A. (Ann) Sanderson, Charles K. (Judy) Sanderson and Wesley (Julie) Sanderson; daughters, Stephanie (Danny) Blue, Marcia Ezelle and Melvia (Dwayne) McKinley; brother, Lafayette (Frances) Sanderson; sister, Kathryn Moore; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Johnson officiating. Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Saturday from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Headley, James Frederick, Jackie DeLoach, Josh Locke, Scott Burt, Gerald Jordan, Joseph Bedsole and Justin McKinley.
Mr. Sanderson enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the harmonica and juice harp. He was a longtime employee of Bush Hog, LLC. He served in the U. S. Army and was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1983.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Jones Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 7, Jones, AL 36749.
