Guy Carroll Henry, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.

Mr. Henry served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the China Burma Theater. One of the highlights of his life was to participate in the WWII Honor Flight ot Washington, DC. Raised in Selma, he attended the Selma Public Schools, graduating from Albert G. Parrish High. He was employed by Southeastern Radio Parts and Poe Electronics as an electronic salesman. His retirement years were spent in Gastonburg, AL, where he and Faye enjoyed time in the country with his sons and grandsons hunting and fishing. Guy also lived at St. Martins in the Pines in Birmingham and Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home in Pell City, AL. A longtime member of Central Baptist Church in Selma, he also served as deacon in several churches in the Gastonburg area. In his last years, he attended Gastonburg United Methodist Church.

Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Fluker Henry, brother, Pelham Hugh Henry, Sr. and his parents, John Warren Henry and Altie Melton Henry.

He is survived by his sister, Ruth Henry Roberts; his children, Jerry Michael (Susan) Henry, Thomas Carroll (Carol) Henry and John Kenneth Henry; grandson, Mike (Jenny) Henry, Rusty (Christi) Henry, David (Mackenzie) Henry and Keith (Sabrina) Butler; eight great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends

Graveside services will be held in Gastonburg Cemetery, on Friday, December 4th, 2015, at 2:00pm. Officiating will be Dr. Jerry Henry with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.


In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Gastonburg United Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
