Harry James Cogar, Sr.

Harry James Cogar, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Brookwood Baptist Hospital in Alabaster at the age of 89.
Mr. Cogar served in the U.S. Navy for more than 20 years and retired as a Gunners Mate Chief.
Later in his career, he was a mechanic.
He is survived by his children, Harry J. Cogar, Jr. and Katherine Louise (Frank) Slate and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elbon and Mabel Cogar and wife, Katherine Cogar.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Shane D. Ogle officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow with Military Honors at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande, Alabama.
