She was a devoted homemaker all of her life. Helen enjoyed sewing; making clothing and quilts for her daughters. She also enjoyed cooking and canning. Her beef stroganoff was the best you ever tasted, and she gave her recipe to countless fans. Helen dearly loved her Louisiana family and her Selma family members, too.
Helen taught Mission Friends and Girls in Action classes at the different Baptist churches that she was a member of and was passionate that her students learn about the missionary Lottie Moon, who literally gave her life to bring the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people in China. Helen made Lottie Moon tea cookies with her students and with her daughters and enjoyed teaching children about the great love that Jesus has for us.
In lieu of flowers, a memory donation can be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
