Henry White Vaughan Hudson died August 1 on his birthday after an extended illness. He was born in Summerfield, AL and descended from early family in Dallas County. He was exactly 83 years old. During his lifetime, Mr. Hudson served briefly in the U.S. Army during and after World War II. He was a retired postal worker and had many friends and acquaintances along his rural route. Shortly prior to his retirement he became successful as an investor of stocks and bonds, and many of his friends and relatives sought advice. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Henry W. Hudson and his wife Elizabeth Jones Stickney, two elder brothers Hardy and Jack, and his son Jimmy Vaughan Hudson. He is survived by his wife Mary Louise ( Stokely) Hudson, his sister Alice Elizabeth (Hudson) Miller of Winter Park, Florida, a daughter and grandchild who live in Texas, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Graveside services were held at New Live Oak Cemetery on Monday at 10 A.M. with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing and Shane Ogle officiating.
