Henry "Lonnie" Averette, the husband of Sue Averette, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma.
Lonnie was bron in Bibb County, Alabama on July 8, 1944 to the late Henry Lloyd Averette and the late Bernice Yeager Averette.
He was a retired Correctional Officer with the Dallas County Sherriff's Department.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sue Grindle Averette; children, Tammy (Bobby) Jenkins, Stacy (Mark) Chaney, and Melanie Averette; grandchildren, Derek (LeAnn) Jenkins, Sheridan (Ty) Jenkins, Brittany Andrews, Hanna Chaney, Katherine Smyly, Benjamin Smyly, Talon Smyly, Mina Smyly, and Baden Smyly; and great-grandchildren, Justin Turner, Mary Hollis Jenkins, Easton Jenkins, Kameron Andrews, and Jesse Grochowski.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bernice Averette.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Pineview Memory Gardens with Bro. Donnie Shumate officiating.
The will be no visitation, everyone please meet in the cemetery.
Final care and arrangements have been faithfully entrusted to Selma Funeral Home.
