Herman ���Tweet��� Hunter, 86, passed away October 20, 2008 at an assisted living facility in Montgomery, AL. He was born August 27, 1922. Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Binford Hunter, his father, F.H. Hunter, his mother and step father, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Graham, and his brother, Hubert Hunter. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth Binford, and several cousins. Mr. Hunter served in the United States Air Force in World War II as Staff/Sgt. In the 883rd Bomber Squad, 500 Bombardment Group. He was a Radar Technician and participated in the first bombing raids over Japan. Mr. Hunter owned and operated Quality Parts and Sports with his partner Malcomb Dailey. They sold the business in 1985 and retired. Mr. Hunter loved sports and was involved in coaching little league teams with ���Shorty��� Miller, Bill Mott, and many others. Their teams won many tournaments. He liked to tell everyone that Terry Leach was one of his boys. Mr. Hunter was a member of the Highland Church of Christ, Elks Lodge, VFW, and American Legion. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Min. Dennis Turner officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity.
