Hettie Williams

Hettie Lee Williams, age 83, of Clay, AL and formerly of Selma, AL, passed away December 7, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy H. Williams; parents, Henry and Ophelia Strickland; brothers, Carl Strickland, Aubrey Strickland and sisters, Flora Stroud, Bill Moore and Polly Stroud. Surviving are her sons, Jody Williams and Russell (Paula) Williams; daughter, Sherry (Howard) Hadley; brothers, Pete Strickland and Donald Strickland; sisters, Leta Broadhead, Jo Owens, Sandy Little, Eloise Beadlescomb and Dorothy Graves; grandchildren, Mason Williams, Sidney Williams, Scott Williams, Catherine (Williams) Gilmer, Matthew Messenger and Kelly Messenger and great-grandchild, Rebecca Gilmer. Graveside services will be Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Cecil Williamson officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12-1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
