Jake Johnson

Jake Kennon Johnson, age 81, of Selma, died Monday September 26, 2011 at his home. Mr. Johnson was a retired Dallas County Farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Webster Johnson and Mary Ethel Longcrier Johnson and his brother, James Henry Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Hatfield Johnson; sons, Stephen Kennon Johnson (Margie) and Chadwick Blaine Johnson; daughter, Rhonda Gail Johnson Tinsley (Don) of Montevallo; grandchildren, Candace, Kyle and Courtney Johnson and Hunter Tinsley; one great-grandchild, Stephen Kenneth Johnson; brother, Curtis Henson Johnson; sister, Mary Johnson Champion and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 28, 2011 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday night from 6-8 p.m.
Active pallbearers will be Roger Teel, Travis DeFoor, Dean Levins, Chuck Waldrop, Wayne Norris, Sr. and Wayne O. Norris. Honorary pallbearers will be Derrell Lawrence, Paul Gosset, Sr., Paul Gosset, Jr., Larry Beard, Gerald Davis, Claude Earl McGinnis, Chip Green and Dale Foshee.
