James Brewer

James Welford Brewer, age 67, of Selma, AL, passed away February 3, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lottie Wyres Brewer; brothers, Levi Brewer, Clarence Brewer and Wilbern Brewer and sisters, Pat Brown and Eva Mae Champion. He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Johnnie Brewer; sons, Charles (Wanda) Horton, Jeffrey (Mary) Smith, J. W. (Rita) Brewer, Willie (Stephanie) Brewer, Willis (Stephanie) Brewer, Andy (Brandie) Smith and Anthony Brewer; daughters, Debbie (Bruce) McGregor, Chrissie Carroll and Sandy (Milton) McCormick; sister, Carolyn (Don) Davidson; twenty-two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; special friend, Randy Tate Perry and two special dogs, Tiny and Gizzy. Funeral services will be Monday, February 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Water Avenue Baptist Church with Minister Willie Brewer and Rev. Rod Rochester officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be J. W. Brewer, Willis Brewer, Charlie Horton, Andy Smith, Scott McGregor and Milton McCormick. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Smith, C. B. Fancher, Comer Dunkin, Bobby Roseberry, Buddy Rose and Russell Martin. The family would like to express a special thank you to Emma, Jo, Frances and Gloria of Cahaba Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Water Avenue Baptist Church.
