James Ray Denmark passed away September 2, 2024 at the age of 81. He was born July 7, 1943 to the late James Raythel and Jacie Lou Denmark.
Ray dedicated over 40 years of his life to running Walter Craig and also had the privilege of working alongside his son at Denmark Tree Service, where they forged memories that will be cherished by all who knew them.
A graduate of Albert G. Parish High School, Ray further pursued his passion for sports by playing football at Texas Tech. Known for his vibrant personality, he was adored by friends and family alike. Ray had a knack for humor, often bringing joy to gatherings with his quick wit and laughter. To those who knew him, what you saw was truly what you got; his authenticity made every interaction meaningful.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Ray was an avid outdoorsman who found immense joy in turkey and deer hunting and fishing. His love for nature was equally matched by his enthusiasm for sharing advice, confidently telling others how to excel in their tasks, a testament to his engaging character.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Pam Wright.
He is survived by his wife, Gail L. Denmark; son, Jeff Raythel (Ieisha Valensolo) Denmark; brother, George (Judy) Denmark; nephews, Hunter (Ann) Denmark, Heath (Mistie) Denmark, Hoyt (Amanda) Denmark, Robert Luker, III and John Luker and brothers-in-law, Bill (Benita) Wood and Robert Luker.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The family will have a private service.
