James Earl Jones age 59 of Selma, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham due to complications of COVID-19. He was born in Selma on August 2, 1960 to the late Carl Jones and the late Jeanette Williamson.
He worked for the last 26 years as a material handler for International Paper - Riverdale Mill.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Faye Jones; siblings, Debra (Stan) Yates, Eddie Jones, and John Jones; aunts and uncles, Quintus (Patsy) Williamson, Ronnie Williamson, Cecil Williamson, and Richard (Brenda) Williamson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne Ford, Raymond (Sheri) Campbell, Renee (Scott) Melton, Lynn (Kyle) Lawley, and Kaye (John) Rea; special niece, Courtney (Hawkins) Houpt; special nephew, Logan (Ashley) Campbell; nieces and nephews, Kyle (Bethany) Lawley, Brandon (Jennifer) Melton, Nicole (Jacob) Blenkinsop, Kayla Lawley, Heather (David) Sellers, Bubba (Shea) Ford, Amy (Jarrod) Brandon, Brandon (Jennifer) Yates, Suzy Yates, Daniel (Heather) Yates, Gabrielle (Robert) Jones, Jake (Emily) Jones, and Heather (Chris) Hicks; and great-nieces and nephews, Dannica, Carson, Joanna, Riley, Copeland, Emerson, Caleb, Skyla, Emmie, Henry, Rylan, Cooper, Dawson, McKenzie, Davis, Will, Jack, Dalton, Bo, and Skyler.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Jeanette Jones; grandmother, Belma Williamson; and mother and father-in-law, Loyd and Pearl Campbell.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Selma with Dr. Cory Horton officiating.
Pallbearers will be Logan Campbell, Brandon Melton, John Rea, Jacob Blenkinsop, Wes Dees, Hawkins Houpt, Quintus Williamson, and Bubba Adams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Nicholas Knight, Gene Garrison, Ron Dockery, and Roosevelt Jones.
The family strongly requests that all people in attendance wear face coverings and please maintain a social distance of six feet or more.
