James Waddell

James "Shorty" Waddell, age 78, of Selma, AL, passed away July 12, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gladys Waddell and brother, Billy Waddell. Surviving are his wife, Myra C. Waddell; daughters, Elizabeth Waddell and Nanette Waddell Ammons; sisters, Shirley (Zack) Battles, Valerie (Billy) Waddell and Jeanette Ward; grandchildren, Ashley Ammons and Brent Ammons and niece, Nicole Roper. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends after the service at 12:30 p.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to Cahaba Hospice, 410 Church Street, Selma, AL 36701 or to the American Legion, P. O. Box 1069, Montgomery, AL 36101, Memorial United Methodist Church, 2150 Broad Street, Selma, AL 36701 or a charity of choice.
