Janet Lowrey Moseley passed away March 7, 2019 at the age of 70. She was born March 3, 1949 in Selma, Alabama to the late John Robbins Lowrey and Dorothy Johnson Lowrey Moseley.
Her early years were spent in Greensboro, Alabama. Following the death of her father, she moved to Selma when her mother and the now late, Dr. Samuel O. Moseley were united in marriage.
She is survived by her sisters, Lyn Moseley (Ted) Hubbard, Jean Moseley (Joe) Massey and Margaret Moseley (Bobby) Hudson; brother Bob (Ann) Moseley; numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
Janet was a graduate of A.G. Parrish High School in Selma, Alabama and Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. She began her teaching career in Greenville, South Carolina, where she remained until moving back to Selma to care for her father. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and never wavered from her Christian path. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Selma.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in New Live Oak Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Light officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Hudson, Ted Hubbard, Joe Massey, Wayne May, Noopie Cosby and Andrew Williamson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Mission Programs; 325 Lauderdale Street, Selma, Alabama 36701.
