Jerry Bennett

Jerry Maxwell Bennett, age 65,of Selma, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 6, 2012. Jerry was born in Suttle in Perry County, Alabama, on June 21, 1947, to Clifton Lee and Clara Belle Melton Bennett. He was a long time resident of Selma, Alabama. Family and friends will remember him as a very caring and giving person who made all who knew him feel special. He was a dedicated and loyal employee of Winn Dixie for over forty years where he was affectionately called J.B. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-seven years, Linda Walker Bennett of Selma, Alabama; brothers, Craig L. Bennett (Virgie) of Clanton, Alabama, Ronald P. Bennett (Janice) of Niceville Florida and Barry R. Bennett (Michele) of Gulf Shores, Alabama, and sisters, Patricia B. Smith (Nicky) of Selma, Alabama and Sheila B. Tubbs (Charles) of Suttle, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton L. and Clara Belle M. Bennett of Suttle, Alabama. Jerry's Life Celebration and visitation will be at Selma Funeral Home on Monday, July 9, 2012, from 10:00-11:00am, with Pastor Michael Brooks officiating, followed by burial in Pine Flat Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barry Bennett, Craig Bennett, Craig Bennett, Jr., Gareth Bennett, Jonathan Bennett and Norman Little. Alternates are Ronald Bennett and Charles Tubbs.
