Jimmy Charles Brooks, age 73, of Selma, AL, passed away December 11, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Angela "Angie" Brooks; children, Traci Jones, Earl (Linda) Irwin, Bruce (Lynn) Irwin, Krystal (Johnny Ray) Harris and David (Vicky) Brooks; brother, John (Rosa) Brooks; sister, Bobbie (Earl) Etheridge; brother-in-law, J. O. (Myrtle) Clark; sister-in-law, Barbara Conner; aunt, Evay (Richard) Rayben; grandchildren, Christie (Chris) Whitehead, Ashley Jones, Brandon Jones, Angela Faith Irwin, Justin (Candice) Irwin, Jordan Irwin, Shelby Irwin, Cameron Irwin, Catherine Irwin and Kelly Ann Frasier; great-grandchildren, Brody Irwin, Ian Whitehead and Brooke Whitehead, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, December 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alan Yarbrough officiating. Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Norman McDonald, Lamar Hinson, Doug Griffin, Glenn Miles, David Etheridge, John Stoudenmire and Mike Cutler. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Gordon, Stanley Johnson, Elton Reece, Howard Godsey, Marshal Williams, Andrew Simmons, Tony Butts, Lowell Butts, Marc Dearman and Andy Dearman. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jean Brannon, Ann Curtis, Charlotte Spicer, Angie Traylor and the staff of Cahaba Hospice; Betty Schroeder, Brenda Lovelady and the Crosspoint Christian Church family and the staff of Birmingham Regional VA Hospital Safe Harbor Unit.
