Joan Frith Moore Hamilton, born on September 3rd, 1948, in Selma, Alabama, passed away on June 6th, 2023, in Freeport, Florida at the age of 74. She was a Godly, charming and loving woman who will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Joan graduated from Orrville High School in 1966. She worked for over thirty years as a clerical worker at the Department of Human Resources before retiring and pursuing her hobbies. Joan liked gardening, birdwatching, playing computer games, baking, and enjoying life. She never met a stranger and had a positive outlook on life that drew people to her.
She had many proud accomplishments throughout her life. Years ago she volunteered with the American Red Cross which she considered a rewarding experience. Joan sang in the choir and was active in the churches she attended. She helped with all types of events at her past and present churches. She was a member of Destiny Worship Center in Freeport, Florida.
Joan will always be remembered as having a people-person personality and being able to light up any room she walked into. She had unique ways to connect with everyone she met. Many good memories are shared amongst those whose lives she touched. She was a dedicated and loving mother.
Joan is survived by her husband, Tommy Hamilton; children Anthony Melton, Jennifer Thornton, Jeremy (Rebecca) Moore, LeAnn (Kent) Hartley and Chris (Eileen) Moore; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers Allen (Jeanne) Frith, Edward (Jan) Frith and Gene (Amy) Frith; sister Margaret Sale and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Rentz Moore and parents, Robert A. "Jake" Frith and Elvira Frith.
The family will receive friends at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home in Selma, Alabama on Friday evening, June 9, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Orrville Cemetery with Rev. Ron Gordon officiating. The funeral service will be live streamed online, via the funeral home's Facebook page, at http://watchlawrence.live
Pallbearers will be Clayton Thornton, Chris Moore, Anthony Melton, Andrew Smith, John Shipman, Nicholas Shipman, Dylan Moore and Skylar Moore.
