Joe Harris Bennett, age 54, of Perry Co., died Tuesday July 19, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his mother: Emma Bill Bennett, father: William Glenwood Bennett, sister: Sara Redd, brothers: Eugene Bennet and James Bennett.
Survivors are his wife: Lisa Bennett, daughter Amy Bennett, step sons: Steven Traywick and Preston Traywick, step daughter: Crystal Averitte. Grandchildren: Hailey Bennett, Devin Headley, Shawn Russell, Megan Julian, Dylan Julian, Dustin Julian, Brian Julian, Brittney Childress, Jeffrey Childress, Jarrett Traywick, Danielle Chisolm, Sierra Chisom, Kennedy Chisom. Brothers: William Bennett Jr., Billy Bennett, Robert Bennett, Franklin Bennett and Johnny Bennett. Sisters: Edna Driver, Connie Phillips, Shirly Stone, Burnice Turner, Janet Stone, Julia Hughey, Brenda Hisel. 27 nieces and 16 nephews.
He was a loving father, husband, brother, grandfather and uncle.
Graveside services will be Saturday, July 23 at 11:00 am at Pineview Memory Gardens with Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at the funeral home 1 hour before the service.
Pallbearers will be: David Bennett, John Sanders, Hugh Allen, Glenn Cosby, David Summerlin, and Edward Sanders. Honorary Pallbearers: Franklin Bennett and Melvin Julian.
