Joe Havern Hitt, age 78, of Selma, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 27 at Sisters Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Bayne officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Sisters Spring Baptist Church cemetery. The family will have a visitation at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 26 from 6-8 p.m.
Mr. Hitt is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Hitt; daughter: Patricia Gaylor (Dannie) of Selma; Sons: Robert Hitt (Kim) of Selma, Jason Hitt (Kimberly) of Foley; grandchildren: Jennifer Hopkins (Edward), Justin Gaylor, Adrienne Hitt, Hunter Hitt; great grandchildren: Caleb Hopkins, Avery Grace Hopkins; brother: Billy Hitt (Sadie) of Nashville, TN and sister: Jane Marinda of Ashland, KY.
He is preceded in death by his parents: William and Gladys Hitt and sister: Norma Ruth Hitt.
Pallbearers will be Edward Hopkins, Justin Gaylor, Johnny Harris, Frank Moore, Billy Moore and Tommy Harris.
