John C. Caine, 71, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010. John was born in Selma, Alabama and graduated from Orrville High School. He attended Marion Military Institute, the University of North Carolina, and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Organic Chemistry. John spent his entire professional career working in air pollution control and was a tireless advocate for the environment. John was employed at Southern Environmental in Pensacola, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. Caine, Sr. and Elizabeth Faulk Caine; his son, Andreas Caine; and two sisters-in-law, Margit Hoefer and Katherine DeRamus Caine. Survivors include his wife, Isolde Caine; his daughter, Angela, two brothers, Alva C. Caine, David (Christine) Caine of Birmingham, AL; one sister, Catherine (John) Parrott of Chattanooga, TN.; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and many special friends. Johné��é��é��s corporate travels allowed him to experience many cultures and customs around the world. He loved to learn about other locations and people, but was passionate about his farm in Safford, Alabama. John loved the outdoors and was always interested in protecting the environment and wildlife. He was pursuing this passion at the time of his unfortunate death. His words and deeds have touched many lives and he will be missed very much. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Safford Baptist Church in Safford, Alabama at 12 noon. Visitation with family and friends will begin at 11:30 AM at the church.
