John Rhodes, Jr.

John Oliver Rhodes, Jr., age 82, of Selma, AL, passed away March 6, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Virginia M. Rhodes; son, John O. Rhodes, III; daughter, Vicki D. Rhodes; sister, Miriam R. Coffee and grandchild, Justin M. Rhodes. Mr. Rhodes played professional baseball before entering the Air Force and after his Civil Service retirement he was employed by Coffee Printing Co. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of the Fur and Feather Hunting Club, Sugar Bend-Sugar Bottom Club and LLL Fishing Club. While in the military he earned the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Air Crew Members Badge. Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens and Rev. Ed Byrom officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.
