Joseph Godwin

Joseph R. Godwin passed away October 26, 2016 at the age of 78. He was born in Selma, Alabama on March 20, 1938 to the late Rufus C. “R.C.” Godwin and Melba Godwin.
He is survived by his sister, Sandra Godwin “Frank” Moore of Selma, Al., nieces, Alison (Andrew) McClure of Selma, Al., Angela (Michel) Stringfellow of Deatsville, Al., great-nieces and great nephews, Hunter Sanders, Madesyn Sanders, Lauren Hope Pouncey and John Andrew McClure.
Funeral services will be Friday October 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Frank Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Francisco, Horace Jones, Andrew McClure, Rodney “Bo” Harrison, Don Phillips and Gary Thicklin. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Deer, Terry Rollen and John Bailey.
