Joseph Salvatore Lafata, age 87, of Quitman, MS and formerly of Selma, AL, passed away June 16, 2018 in Quitman, MS
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dera Lafata; parents, Baptiste and Rosalie Lafata; sister, Mary Ciarametaro and brother, Paul Lafata.
Surviving are his children, Roseann (Roger) Corley and David Lafata; sister, Virginia (Nat) Gatinella; sister-in-law, Coleman Rainey; grandchildren, Stephanie Arnold, Eric Arnold, Blake (Jerrilyn) Crowe and Heather (Michael) Motley and great-grandchildren, Kaylee Arnold, John Eric Arnold and Jackson Crowe.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Pineview Memory Gardens with Rev. Clarke Skelton officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Valley Grande Baptist Church, 48 County Road 16, Valley Grande, AL, 36701.
